WHO IS ROGER FEDERER?

 

Federer was born on august 8, 1981, a Swiss professional tennis player who started playing tennis at age eight and became Switzerland’s junior champion when he was 14. He holds several ATP records and is considered to be one of the greatest tennis players of all time. The Swiss player has proved his dominance on court with 20 Grand Slam titles and 103 career ATP titles.  Federer won his first Grand Slam singles title at Wimbledon in 2003 at age 21. 

Federer has played in an era where he dominated men’s tennis together with Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic who have been collectively referred to as the Big Three and are widely considered three of the greatest male tennis players of all-time. 

Federer is married to former Women’s Tennis Association player Miroslava Federer (usually called Mirka) whom he met while they were both competing for Switzerland at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. They were married at Wenkenhof Villa in Riehen near Basel on 11 April 2009. Same year, Mirka gave 메이저사이트 birth to identical twin girls. The Federers had another pair of identical twins in 2014, this time boys.

In 2003, he founded the Roger Federer Foundation, which is dedicated to providing education programs for children living in poverty in Africa and Switzerland. His eponymous foundation has raised more than $50 million and educated 1.5 million children in Africa since its launch.
